Rhodes Football Alumni,
I would like to
take this opportunity to mention a new and exciting development in
the Rhodes College Football Program. Dennis Grzeskowiak (’02),
Ryan Loesch ('98) and I have formed the Rhodes College Football
Alumni Association (R.C.F.A.A.). With your assistance, we can start
to repay the Rhodes Football program for the lasting memories and
friendships it has given each of us. Our initial goal is to make
contact with every former player, have them register online and eventually achieve 100% class
participation in financial contributions to the football program, no
matter how big or small the donation. For the past three seasons,
every member of the 2002 class contributed to the program, and now
we would like to have the same dedication from every class.
Due in large part
to the work of Ryan Loesch we now have a fully operational online
database that will keep everyone up to date during the season with
the current Lynx as well as allow alumni to reconnect and network
across the country. We will continue to update the site as necessary
and are always open to suggestions for changes or additions.
Following a strong
2003 season during which the Lynx finished with their best record
since 1990 and defeated national power Trinity University and a 2004
season that saw 14 Lynx named All-SCAC this is an extremely exciting
time for anyone involved in Rhodes Football, past or present.
Everyone who has ever worn a helmet with the Lynx paw on its side
helped to build the foundation for the current success of this
program. We ask that you now help propel this program into the
future. If you are interested in becoming a class representative and
assisting with the initial development of this beneficial
organization, please contact Lane Young, Dennis Grzeskowiak, or Ryan
Loesch at admin@lynxfootball.com.
I sincerely think
that in the years to come we will all have played a major and vital
role in the formation of something that will do wonders for Rhodes
College Football, both past, present, and into the future.
Sincerely,
Lane Young – Class of ‘02
