Lynx senior quarterback Daniel Swanstrom recently
accepted an offer to join the Darmstadt Diamonds professional football
team in Darmstadt, Germany. Swanstrom, who finished his
collegiate career this past fall as the Lynx All-Time leading passer
with 7546 yards, will depart the day after graduation to begin his
professional career.
 A native of Houston, Texas
and Stratford High School, Swanstrom leaves Rhodes with 13 school passing records
and ranks 4th All-Time for career passing yards in the Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). In 2003, he was
voted the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year and was a 1st Team All-SCAC
Quarterback after leading the Lynx to a 7-3 record, their best finish
since the 1990 season. This past season
Swanstrom was again named All-SCAC as well as being named a 2004
Gagliardi Trophy finalist, honoring the top D-III College football
player in the nation.
